The proposed United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) currently includes a provision advancing the radical LGBT agenda by elevating "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to a protected class that is inconsistent with many existing laws, precedent, and religious liberty and conscience rights.
President Trump, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are expected to sign the agreement on November 30th at the next G-20 summit in Argentina.
We are calling on President Trump and members of Congress to remove the language enacting a radical social policy by elevating "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to a protected status as part of the agreement.
Our petition states:
To: President Donald Trump and Members of Congress
We, the undersigned, urge you to remove language contained within the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) that elevates "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to a protected class that is inconsistent with existing law, legal precedent and the Trump administration's prior policies.
We agree with the 38 members of Congress, whose letter to President Trump states:
"A trade agreement is no place for the adoption of social policy... As a sovereign nation, the United States has the right to decide when, whether and how to tackle issues of civil rights, protected classes and workplace rights.
We urge you to remove the controversial language before advancing the USMCA! These provisions are a Trojan Horse that could be used like a wrecking ball against federal and state laws to advance an LGBT agenda.
