Canada's drive to change U.S. social policy

Canada's Prime Minister is seeking to change U.S. "Civil Rights" law by advancing a pro-LGBT initiative housed in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Immediate action is needed. Liberty Counsel Action is calling on President Trump and Members of Congress to remove the pro-LGBT language from the trade agreement. See my message below on this dangerous situation — Mat.

In two days, President Trump is scheduled to formally sign a replacement for the North American Free Trade Agreement. The proposed United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) must be signed by the Mexican President and Canadian Prime Minister as well as President Trump by December 1st and then be submitted to all three governments for approval.

+ + Canada is attempting to change U.S. "Civil Rights" law!

It's clear that Liberal Party Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a driving force behind the pro-LGBT language. In an interview, the PM asserted,

"Canada will always try to engage, be very direct about always and consistently standing up for human rights and at the same time try and create a relationship that allows us to perhaps advance, nudge, move forward in a way that will be better for their citizens as well as ours."
And, in a statement to Global News, a spokesperson from an "LGBTQ2+ advocacy group said it strongly stands by the clause in the deal, and encourages Canada to stand by it."
"'We firmly believe that any new international trade agreement should uphold Canada's human rights values and should strive to be more inclusive, especially regarding labour and gender rights as well as all anti-discrimination policies towards any minority group.'"

The pro-LGBT language would establish special rights for "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" as the supreme law of the land via the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution.

Liberty Counsel Action strongly opposes the insertion of the language into the trade agreement that circumvents the proper legislative process and will cause direct conflict with many existing laws, precedent, religious liberty, and conscience rights.
+ + The clock is ticking!

As of this moment, there are no indications that President Trump will attempt to remove the specific LGBT language from the agreement prior to the G-20 signing ceremony scheduled for Friday. Then, it will be up to Congress to edit the agreement.
Time is of the essence to alert our lawmakers that we oppose any attempts to force the U.S. to adopt a new social policy through a trade agreement!

Congress has repeatedly rejected the concept that the Civil Rights law should include "gender identity" and the other pro-LGBT protections. We cannot allow Canada's agenda to dictate US social policy!

Over the next 48 hours, prior to the G-20 Summit, I am asking every friend of Liberty Counsel Action to send a round (or two) of faxes to members of Congress who may well be the difference makers. Everything you need is one click away!

Thank you for taking immediate action.

Yours for liberty,
